Audit Manager - Consumer Credit

    Permanent Position and Term One Year 


    The Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority (FCAA) protects consumer interests and supports economic well-being through responsive financial marketplace regulation. The FCAA’s Consumer Credit Division is currently seeking two Audit Managers to join our team, with one position being a permanent position and the other being a one - year term.  

    Reporting to the Director, the successful candidates will be involved in the regulation of mortgage brokerages, trust and loan companies, payday lenders and/or credit unions. Working with other division staff and with a self-regulatory organization and other stakeholders, you will be responsible for developing and carrying out regulatory activities such as determining risk profiles of assigned institutions and performing risk-based audits to assess licensees’ risk management and governance processes, and their compliance with legislation and other regulatory requirements.  You will communicate concerns and deficiencies, monitor to ensure these items are resolved, and recommend and support escalating regulatory actions if concerns are not appropriately addressed.  You may also be involved in developing and implementing new legislation and regulatory policy. 
    Typically, the knowledge and abilities required for this position would be obtained through a professional accounting or finance designation (CPA, CFA, etc.) with a university degree in business administration or commerce or equivalent along with several years of progressive experience.  Experience in the banking or credit union sectors would be a definite asset.
