Three tips for picking a travel agent

A travel agent may be able to help you avoid winter and escape to sunny beaches and a warmer climate. They can be a big help when it comes to finding group discounts or taking care of complicated paperwork but you should always take steps to protect yourself in case an agency goes out of business or has problems delivering services.

  1. Pay with a credit card –It is easier to get a refund through a credit card provider.
  2. Minimize or avoid cash or cheque deposits. It may be more difficult or impossible to get a refund if something goes wrong.
  3. Do some research – read customer reviews, check with the Better Business Bureau and the Association of Canadian Travel Agencies (ACTA), and confirm that the agency is well established and has a good reputation within the community
