    The Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority of Saskatchewan (FCAA) protects consumers and the public interest and supports economic well-being through responsive marketplace regulation. FCAA enhances consumer protection through licensing, registration, disclosure, audit, complaint handling and enforcement activities pursuant to various provincial statutes.

    The Securities Division of the FCAA is seeking a highly motivated professional to join our team as Senior Securities Analyst in a one-year, term position. 

    As a Senior Securities Analyst, you will facilitate investor protection and foster public confidence in making investments in capital markets in Saskatchewan. With your analytical skills, you will perform detailed reviews of disclosure provided in securities offering documents and continuous disclosure materials filed by public companies to ensure they are making appropriate and timely disclosure to properly inform investors in Saskatchewan. In this position, you will be required to participate on policy committees that form recommendations for the development of legislative rules, regulatory instruments, and amendments.
    Our successful candidate will:

    • Have knowledge of current Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS);
    • Have knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS);
    • Have the ability to analyze complex business transactions; and review, interpret, and evaluate financial information, including historical and pro forma financial statements, financial forecasts and projections, and other written information;
    • Have the ability to assess whether the disclosure materials filed by public companies are in compliance with securities legislation, and provide recommendations to the senior management of these companies;
    • Work independently and make sound decisions; and,
    • Have proficiency in MS Office (Excel and Word), Adobe Acrobat and database systems.

    Typically, the knowledge and skills necessary would be obtained through completion of the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation with recent public accounting experience, primarily with the preparation or audit of financial statements for a wide variety of clients. Completion of the Canadian Securities Course would be an asset.
