The Film Content Information Act (the “Act”) has been proclaimed and will take effect on April 1, 2026. The accompanying Film Content Information Regulations (the “Regulations”) have also been passed and will come into force on the same date. The new legislation will repeal The Film and Video Classification Act, 2016 and The Film and Video Classification Regulations, 2018 when it comes into effect.
