Exemption Order 45-539 - Small Business Financing

    Effective Date: September 1, 2021

    The Small Business Financing prospectus exemption allows small businesses in the participating jurisdictions to raise up to $5,000,000 from purchasers in those jurisdictions through a streamlined financing process. Today’s amendment removes the original expiry date of September 1, 2024.

    This version updates the September 1, 2021 version.
    The purpose of the Small Business Financing Guide is to assist start-ups and other small businesses intending to raise funds by relying on the exemption from the prospectus requirement entitled Small Business Financing, which is available to businesses headquartered in Alberta or Saskatchewan, or in a jurisdiction with a Corresponding Exemption raising up to $5,000,000 from purchasers in those provinces.
