  Effective Date: May 13, 2016.

  This instrument improves transparency in the OTC derivatives market for regulators, contemplates public dissemination of certain transaction-level data to improve transparency in the OTC derivatives market for participants and imposes requirements relating to the governance and operation of trade repositories. These requirements are designed to ensure that trade repositories act in a way that is consistent with the public interest.

• Amendments to Multilateral Instrument 96-101

  Since the implementation of derivatives trade reporting requirements, global regulators have identified shortcomings in the data that they received and have been working to implement global standards to improve the quality of data, create standardized systems to identify the parties to each derivative, identify the type of derivative being traded and assign a unique identifier for each derivative.

  Effective Date: Subject to Ministerial approval.

  Effective Date: Subject to the effective date of amendments to Multilateral Instrument 96-101 Trade Repositories and Derivatives Data Reporting.
