Securities - In-person hearings on hold
April 16, 2020 - The Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority (“FCAA”) is taking all necessary precautions to protect the health and safety of its employees and the public as we respond to challenges due to COVID-19. We continue to monitor information available concerning the public health risks posed by COVID-19 and in order to protect our employees and the public, the FCAA will not be holding in-person hearings pursuant to The Securities Act, 1988, until at least May 31, 2020.
Matters which were originally scheduled to be heard prior to May 31, 2020 for which adjournments by consent have not already been arranged, are hereby adjourned sine die. Counsel and/or self-represented litigants may make arrangements with the Registrar for rescheduling of such matters once regular operations resume. In the event parties wish to proceed prior to May 31, 2020, they can apply to the Hearing Panel for leave to proceed by way of electronic or written hearing.
The Registrar will continue to receive Statements of Allegations, Motions or other filings by email at registrarfcaa@ gov.sk.ca in accordance with Saskatchewan Policy Statement 12-602, Procedure for Hearings and Reviews.

Securities – Amendments to Exemption Order 25-502 Temporary Exemption from Certain Reporting Requirements for Regulated Entities
April 14, 2020 – On March 23, 2020 the Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority of Saskatchewan (FCAA) published General Order 25-502 Temporary Exemption from Certain Reporting Requirements for Regulated Entities (GO 25-502) to provide temporary blanket relief for market participants from certain regulatory filings, as a result of COVID-19. FCAA has now amended GO 25-502 to include temporary relief from certain reporting requirements under Multilateral Instrument 96-101 Trade Repositories and Derivatives Data Reporting.

April 9, 2020 – Concurrent to the publication of the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) published CSA Notice and Request for Comment Proposed National Instrument 45-110 Start-up Crowdfunding Registration and Prospectus Exemptions (Proposed NI 45-110) on February 27, 2020, the Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority of Saskatchewan has amended General Order 45-929 Start-up Crowdfunding Registration and Prospectus Exemptions to extend the order until such time as Proposed NI 45-110 is adopted in Saskatchewan.
